OrcDev

I'm green. Neon is green.

Yeah. So... I joined Neon.

It's official. If you've watched my videos, you already know Neon. I've used it in a bunch of my builds. So when this came up, it just made sense.

Before anyone panics: OrcDev stays OrcDev. Same orc. Same videos. Same Horde.

Neon isn't just Postgres anymore

You still get the database, and you can still branch it like your code. But now it's a whole backend. There's an AI gateway (one key for the big models), Neon Realtime, auth, storage and functions.

And it's built for agents. Tell your agent "create me a database" and it does everything. Honestly, I think it's the best database tool for AI agents right now.

What I'm actually doing

My role is DX. Developer experience. That means the docs, the onboarding, and the "why is this error happening at 2am" moments. If something feels clunky, I want to know, and I want to help fix it.

I'm also Neon's mascot. That was kind of inevitable. I'm green. Neon is green. The universe decided.

The part I'm most excited about is that I'm in charge of Neon's open source program. Half my channel is me building free stuff and giving it away. Now I get to do that at a bigger scale, with a team behind it. More to share soon.

What doesn't change

I'm not turning into a corporate account. If something sucks, I'll still say it.

For you, it means a direct line into Neon. If you want a feature, a fix, an example, or a docs page that actually makes sense, you know who to bug.

So ask me anything about Neon on X (@orcdev). I'll answer what I can, and if I don't know, I'll find out.

New chapter. Same orc. Let's go.
